This week, Dallas gets busy with its own Spring Awakening as Dallas Startup Week and Dallas Arts Month kicks off.

Monday, April 2

To celebrate Dallas Startup Week, head over to the Longhorn Ballroom on Corinth Street for the Techstars Launch Party at 7pm. Even if you’re not an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur, this one is bound to be interesting for anyone learning more about their local Dallas community. The event is free and you can RSVP directly at

Tuesday, April 3

Expo Park, the neighborhood nestled between the main entrance of Fair Park and Deep Ellum, has undergone a resurgence not only as home to one of Dallas’s finest and well-lit DART stations, but also to a number of restaurants and bars. On Tuesday, check out the funky and eclectic neighborhood restaurant, Pizza Lounge, for dinner and drinks. Pizza Lounge was founded by two Colorado expats and has been written up by Thrillist as a “Deep Ellum pizza powerhouse” with a “vintage pin-up motif”. Need we say more?

Once you’re done with dinner, if you’re interested in continuing the momentum, walk the literally 20 feet over to Las Almas Rotas for artisan Mescal drinks.
